The FAIRHAVEN
HISTORICAL DISTRICT, established in 1883, is a charming,
bayside neighborhood in Bellingham, Washington. A rich
oasis, abundant with quaint diversions including coffee houses,
book stores, local potters and wood carvers, a delightful
garden/nursery emporium, restaurants and a lively evening
scene. During
the summer local festivities include a farmers market, outdoor
cinema, music festivals and gallery walks. The Alaska Ferry
has it's grand terminal here, as does Amtrak. A friendly
community and peaceful bayside sunsets await you!
Bellingham is a breathtakingly beautiful place to live and
work. Bordered by the Puget Sound and the waters of
Bellingham Bay it is surrounded by dramatic hills and dotted
by three lakes. This bustling university town is full of
fine old houses, award-winning architecture, stately streets,
and lovely parks.
The City of Bellingham has a population of nearly 70,000 inhabitants. The
population for the whole of Whatcom county is approximately 165,000.
